1/5/2010: Overall, DVD Cloner is a good quality dvd copy program. It has options including compression, dual layer media support, and episodic support. However, we still feel the usability and customer support is below average, even though the latest releases have done much to improve these issues.
One of the major concerns we have with DVD Cloner is the frequency of updates. Although they update their product in an attempt to keep up with the latest movie releases, they are not as up-to-date as our higher rated products (see comparison chart).
In addition, this product has "built-in" CSS decryption, something we don't recommend. Other companies have gotten into legal trouble by putting this feature directly into their software. These companies have been put out of business and no longer support their product. We prefer our #1 and #2 choice, 1Click DVD Copy and 1Click DVD Copy PRO, which have legally integrated CSS decryption.
You'll sometimes see this product advertised at $39.00. However, be aware that you get what you pay for with DVD copy software. For approximately $20 more the top competitors offer a better product.
